Madrid Marathon 2025

Madrid is a city deeply passionate about sports, with running being one of the most popular activities. The city hosts numerous events that runners can enjoy throughout the year.

The Madrid Marathon is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited event for both professional and amateur runners. The challenge of completing the 42 kilometres may not be for everyone, but the 45,000 runners who take part every year experience a truly unforgettable milestone.


As part of the Rock’n’Roll Marathon series, the Madrid Marathon is one of the most unique in the world, featuring live concerts and entertainment along the entire route to keep the brave runners motivated.


 


When is the Madrid Marathon 2025?


The 47th edition of the Madrid Marathon will take place on Sunday, 27th April 2025. The race will start at 9:00 AM.


In parallel with the marathon, the Feria del Corredor will be held as usual, from Friday 25th to Saturday 26th April, between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM. This is where participants can pick up their race numbers.


 


Madrid Marathon Route


The stunning route of the Madrid Marathon is a favourite among ç runners. Its diverse circuit goes through different neighbourhoods across the city, allows participants to enjoy some of Madrid’s most iconic landmarks.


The race starts at Plaza de Gregorio Marañón in the heart of the city and heads towards the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The course continues through areas like Cuatro Torres, the Salamanca district, Callao Square, Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace, and Almudena Cathedral. Finally, runners will pass through Madrid’s “art triangle,” which includes the Prado Museum and the Reina Sofía Museum, before reaching the finish line at Paseo de Recoletos.
The Madrid Marathon route is a fun party, with over 30 cheer zones spread across the 42km, providing incredible encouragement for participants.

Madrid Half Marathon: the 21k alternative


The Madrid Marathon offers a range of distance options for those who prefer a shorter route. With the Madrid Half Marathon (21k) and the 10k race, everyone can enjoy this unforgettable running experience in the Spanish capital.


For those not running, there are still plenty of ways to get involved. Thousands of spectators will fill the streets to cheer on the runners and join in the celebration.


 


Registration for the Madrid Marathon


With only a few months left until the event, unfortunately, the Madrid Marathon race numbers are sold out, but you can still join the waiting list.


Registration fees vary from €65 for the first 4,000 entries to €150 for those on the waiting list. For the 21k, prices range from €30 to €100, and for the 10k, from €25 to €50.


Joining the waiting list is free, and you only pay if you secure a spot. So, you’ve got nothing to lose by signing up!
