A hotel with history that sets trends
Our 5-star hotel in Madrid, housed in a majestic 19th-century palace, is a symbol of timeless luxury in the Spanish capital. For the past 15 years, it has been a favorite destination for those in search of a design accommodation in Madrid. To celebrate this milestone, the iconic property has undertaken a full renovation of its 44 rooms and suites.
The renovation was entrusted to the renowned Spanish interior designer María Santos, who was making her debut in the hospitality industry. The seamlessly blends classic elegance with contemporary details, elevating the guest experience to a new level of sophistication.
The redesign: capturing elegance and timelessness
The goal of the renovation was clear: to preserve the hotel’s signature sophistication while adding a modern and refreshing touch, making it one of the most welcoming places to stay in central Madrid.
Wood is the great protagonist of this project, an element which brings warmth and comfort to the spaces. Besides, noble materials like oak, contrasted with brass accents, create a perfect balance between classic and modern styles.
At the same time, the previously dark color palette has been replaced with lighter, more natural tones such as beige and cream. These colors, paired with the wood, create a warm and inviting atmosphere. This choice not only evokes a sense of calm and serenity but also enhances the natural light that floods the rooms.
Details that make the difference
Every corner of Hotel Único has been carefully crafted to provide guests with a truly luxurious experience. Custom-made furniture has been carefully designed for each room, with standout features such as intricately molded wooden headboards and stylish desks that offer both comfort and elegance.
The design is versatile, perfect for both leisure travelers and those seeking a luxury getaway in Madrid, ensuring each stay is unique and personalized.
Common areas that invite relaxation
The renovation, designed by María Santos, also extended to the hotel’s common areas. These spaces retain the stately character of the building, from the grand central staircase to the art pieces that decorate the hotel, including contemporary works by artists such as Jacinto Moros. These are thoughtfully paired with more modern touches. Guests can also unwind in the hotel’s exclusive library, perfect for a moment of relaxation, or in the cozy and sophisticated central lounge.
One of the hotel’s highlights is its English bar, an intimate and elegant space where guests can enjoy signature cocktails and a light menu throughout the day. During the warmer months, the terrace and inner garden transform into a peaceful oasis, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city.
